Andrea’s #WhenYouKnow Story

“I was desperate, homeless, doing despicable things for a drug I absolutely hated… and in one moment, I knew I never had to use again.”

“ It’s so freeing. I get to go to work. I get to do things. I get to have a life. I get to do all the wonderful things and be part of society…there’s hope.”

From being introduced to IV drug use at just 15 to facing multiple incarcerations, Andrea’s life was once ruled by a habit that held her in bondage. But everything changed when, at her lowest moment, she reached out for spiritual guidance—and experienced a life-altering encounter with God.

Now, more than a decade into her recovery, she’s learned that the work she puts into her recovery is so much easier than the all-consuming life of supporting her substance use habit. Andrea has found peace, purpose, and the freedom to live a life she no longer has to run from. Today, she serves others in the recovery community, proving that hope is real, and help is possible.
