Craig Pickos, Executive Director of Polk for Recovery, shares his experience with stigma both as a person in long-term recovery and as a Certified Peer Specialist who helps others through their own recovery.

The stigma surrounding recovery and behavioral health issues comes from not understanding, and Craig shares that Peer Specialists aid in reducing that stigma by sharing their own stories in a way that encourages confidence and strength in others to do the same.
